Shant Minas is the principal engineering geologist and managing director of AES. As part of his tasks he oversees all field exploration, conducts detailed geologic investigations, and prepares reports and geologic maps. From the time he joined AES in 2003 he has been largely responsible for continued innovation and augmentation of AES’s growing list of services offered, including methane testing and mitigation design, percolation testing, feasibility studies and design for septic systems, water quality testing, fault studies, deputy inspection, and environmental investigations.

In addition to his primary expertise as an engineering geologist, Shant also has a broad academic as well as experiential background in environmental hydrogeology, and holds degrees in economics and financial mathematics from USC. He served honorably in the US Army with an overseas tour in Korea, and is currently the Chair of the Association of Engineering Geologists’ SoCal section. His hobbies include mountain biking, writing, and guitar.

Caro Minas founded AES in 1985 after working with a number of major national and international engineering firms for 12 years. He received his BS (’75) and MS (’76) degrees in civil and geotechnical engineering, respectively, from California State University, Los Angeles. In addition to his extensive experience in California and Nevada, he has conducted major investigations for nuclear power plants, harbors, industrial complexes, and gas distribution projects in the Persian Gulf area. Today he is one of the foremost geotechnical engineers in the LA area and oversees all engineering operations at AES. In his spare time Caro likes to travel, and play tennis.

Lilian Avak has been serving as the Office Manager at AES since 2012, bringing over a decade of experience in administrative leadership, organizational management, and quality assurance. She is a TÜV-certified ISO 9002 auditor (Management Standard International Organization) and a graduate of Landmark Education’s Team Management & Leadership and Communication programs.

Lilian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Language Arts and German–Farsi Translation from Azad University in Tehran, Iran. Her diverse background contributes to her strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to support cross-functional teams effectively.

In addition to her professional role, Lilian is a musician and music educator. She previously served as the Ararat choir conductor for ten years. She is currently expanding her creative and technical expertise by pursuing online studies in Interior Design and Staging through QC School of Design.

Lorelei joined AES in June, 2021. She graduated with a B.S. from California State University, Los Angeles. She has extensive experience as an administrative assistant at architectural and engineering firms for over 25 years. In her free time she loves hanging out with family and friends, traveling and the beach.

Treza joined Applied Earth Sciences in January 2023. She has B.A. in Political Science from Tehran Azad University and Accounting Certificate from Industrial Management Institute ( IMI). After migrating to the United States in 2015, she went to Glendale Community College to refresh her education in accounting. She was working in SGS S.A.- Iran branch- in the financial division for about thirteen years. In the United States she worked at Financial Consultant Associates as a tax assistant and at D&D International Inc. as an in-house accountant, then she joined our company to continue her career as a bookkeeper. In her free time, Treza enjoys cooking, baking, crafting, reading, and watching movies. She loves nature.

Fred specializes in geological and geotechnical investigations for residential and multi-story developments, including house additions and swimming pools. He provides foundation and retaining wall design, shoring recommendations, slope stability analyses, and liquefaction analysis. He prepares soils, percolation, and compaction reports. He also conduct onsite inspections to help ensure safe and efficient construction.

Galeh Bedrousian is a Soil Laboratory Director & Staff Engineer at Applied earth science where he specializes in Engineering calculations and conducting soil tests in the lab and interpreting the results. Graduated in 2007 and with 18 years of experience in construction, Design and Structural & Soil testing work he understands all the aspects of this industry and can foresight problems before they occur.

Prior to joining Applied Earth Science, Galeh worked at Accu-Test Structural Lab, contributing to assessing, Testing & evaluating existing structures in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. He is known for accuracy and conscientiousness. Outside of work, Galeh enjoys spending time with his kids & family and participating in Armenian Boy Scouts activities.

Daniel joined AES in late 2019. He graduated with a B.S. from California State University, Long Beach. He has extensive experience performing Geotechnical Investigations. In his free time enjoys working on cars and spending time with his dog.

Farzad was born on August 30, 1971, in Tehran, Iran. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Azad University of Zahedan, Iran. He is a licensed deputy grading inspector with the City of Los Angeles. Worked for over 19 years with geotechnical consulting firms.

Suresh joined the AES team in 2013, working as a designer for methane barrier, de-watering, and waterproofing systems, as well as inspecting passive and active methane mitigation and waterproofing systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. He received his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the Institution of Engineers in India, and worked at numerous companies in Nepal before moving to the United States to further his career. He is a Registered Deputy Inspector for Methane Barrier Systems, as well as a Certified Inspector for Waterproofing and Methane Barriers. He also holds an Engineering-In-Training License from the California State Board for Professional Engineers.

Sadegh (Shahram) Ranjbaran is a Civil Engineer and Project Manager with more than 18 years of experience in civil engineering, infrastructure development, construction management, and industrial projects. His professional experience includes roads, bridges, buildings, site development, earthwork, grading, foundations, retaining walls, drainage-related works, and steel structures. Throughout his career, he has been involved in engineering design, construction supervision, project planning and scheduling, cost estimation, quality control, contractor and consultant coordination, and technical document review. He brings a strong combination of field experience, technical expertise, project management skills, and a practical approach to solving complex engineering and construction challenges while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and project performance. His professional certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP®️), PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP®️), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA®️), Professional Scrum Master (PSM®️), and IPMA Level D.

Wahick (Vince) joined AES in 2013 as a staff geologist & AutoCAD drafter. He earned his B.S. in Geology in 1992 from University of Tehran. Wahick worked as a geologist in different dam construction companies back in Iran before coming to USA in 1999. He got his AS in Architectural Design from Glendale Community College and a certificate in Construction Inspection from Pasadena City College. Wahick is a registered Deputy Methane Barrier Inspector in the City of Los Angeles. He also has years of experience working as a designer & drafter in various architectural & structural engineering offices in Los Angeles.

Andrew Ceglinski is a staff geologist at AES with a background in mining, well drilling, paleontology, and geotechnical work. His work includes field exploration, report writing, environmental investigations, and fault studies. Since his college days in Colorado, he’s been caught outside on the trails or at home admiring his rock collection.

Patrick joined AES in September of 2023. He graduated with a B.S. in geology from Ohio University in Athens, OH. Patrick spent the beginning of his career in the oil fields in west Texas and New Mexico – in the Delaware basin specifically. After living in Portland for a few years and doing Geotechnical work, he found his way to beautiful sunny southern California for a small stint in environmental before landing with AES. In total about 10 years of geology and engineering experience. In his free time he loves to rock climb outside, especially high in the mountains, and go on camping and hiking trips. Most of his other free time is spent enjoying time with loved ones.

Rudy is a seasoned chemical engineer with experience in transportation and laboratory projects. Holding a degree in chemical engineering and a certificate in advanced manufacturing. Rudy has contributed his expertise internationally, working in the Philippines, Guam, Saudi Arabia and the United States. His extensive background ensures innovative solutions and high-quality outcomes for every project.
